The same old saying ‘there’s no place like home’ is so true. I’m now home for 16 hours between travels from Oslo to London, and my apartment in Stockholm is such an oasis. I love spending time at my place. I’m not at home that much, so when I do get the chance it’s such a luxury. I’ve worked for a couple of months on getting the place in tip-top shape. (almost, I want to remodel the entire kitchen).
Homecomings have an ease and release on my body and mind. I’m usually a person that needs about 30 minutes to decompose after workdays. Total quietness and silence. I love spending time by myself, I can go very well without talking to people for 48 hours. (Anybody else have this?). While on the other end I love to have brunches, lunches and drinks in either my kitchen, living room or at the balcony.
Now that I’m actually owning a home, I have also experienced how much fun it is to renovate (geek alert). Put me in an overall, drill in my hand, goggles on my head and I can go for hours. My winter weekends were often planned with ‘wiring, spackel, paint, drilling, kitting’ I know, such a wild life right. But I actually find it real rewarding to see the end result. Plus, you have total control on the materials and work. Previous pictures can be found here.
Favourite day at home? Up at the crack of dawn for Kungsholmen gym, picking up fresh flowers, morning juice on the balcony, coffee on the sofa and then spending the workday from home behind my desk typing and yapping away.
I sometimes can’t believe I’m already thinking about selling again
