Spring arrived with the speed of light. As we indeed, saw the light again (mmm, the sun really is so good!) Within a week it was sunny days, hot days and chillin’ on blankets in the freshly mowed grass. Most days were covered by thesis stress, endless transcriptions and lots of hard work. Typing into the wee-hours, not realizing it’s already 2AM ’cause of the ever present sun. A trip home (yeeey!), missing Välborg, going to Copenhagen for every fart or burb and discovering 20 2nd-handshops along the way. Finally achieving academic credits only to hear ‘Sweden does not diversify through appraisal of grades’. A visit from my parents, going to Lousiana, Denmark and soaking up the sun in Malmö’s parks. The Eurovision song festival, last days of school, ice-cream bombs, Swedish girls graduating in white (?), weekends away, lots of dinners, fancy grad-parties, beaches to yourself and wildlife coming to… life. It was the summer before summer. It was blood, sweat and lots of tears and one of the best times of my life. Funny how delicate time is.

  1. Aah leuk. Wat is Zweden toch heerlijk; I miss it. De lente is het enige seizoen dat ik er niet heb meegemaakt, misschien toch weer een voorjaar die kant op 🙂
